“The goal of branding isn’t to attract everyone. It is to attract the ones that resonate with you and your brand.”

Brand Consistency is Key

If you are the organizational type like me then you most likely strive to keep things looking color coded and tidy around your house, car and job. Well, that also means on your website and social media accounts also if you want to go even further.

Keeping things consistent is crucial for your brand and can also be fun in the designing area.

I use opens in a new windowPicMonkey or opens in a new windowCanva to design most of my graphics but in this blog post I will be showing you how with opens in a new windowCanva. You can use the free version for these so let’s get started!

Sign up with Canva for your free account

The first thing that you need to do is to skip on over to  opens in a new windowCanva. Well, you don’t have to skip I suppose but get yourself there.

Once you set up your free account click on “create a design” and find the option to create an Instagram post since this makes a good size for Pinterest board covers also.

Choose your template for your Pinterest Board Covers

On the scroll box on the left you can choose a template to start off with or you can start from scratch. Just make sure to use your brand colors and fonts in your board cover designs if possible to create consistency on your Pinterest account and website.

Make your first group board with whatever info that you want to incorporate on the image. If you want to add your stamp or submark to it then you do so. Just remember that this will basically be the template that you will be using for all of them. So once you decide on your font(s) and other details just write in the name of your group board to match the title that you named your group board so it stays consistent. Yes, I do like that word as a matter of fact.

Once you have decided on your first group board’s design and layout then go up to the upper right and click on download button. Under file type you can use PNG or JPG. It doesn’t matter but I always like to use PNG for better quality images.

Once you have your image saved, you can either make a copy of the design you made for your next group board or just change the current one you just made.

Start designing those Pinterest boards!

When you have all your new covers ready, just go into your Pinterest account and upload the images as a pin to each board you made one for. Edit your board next and select the option to change the cover and you should see it first or scroll to the next to find it and click save.

There you have it! Brand consistency! And now you stand out as you should.
